Testimonials

Hear from our couples

Verified reviews from couples we've photographed.

Shutter & Sound is the best. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone. After postponing our wedding reception due to COVID I knew I still wanted them there for our microwedding so we get to have the pleasure of working with them twice. Thank you S&S team for creating beautiful memories for us to cherish for years to come.

AUTUMN MMXX

Like many couples, we had the initial wedding date of April 2020 and had to reschedule three times till finally getting hitched. From the beginning stages of planning and through the multiple reschedules, the team has been wonderful to work with. As a nervous bride, our coordinator was reassuring and rolled with the many emails I had leading up to the big day. I'm so grateful to have found them.

AUTUMN MMXXI

As wedding planners we look for many things in a great vendor — responsiveness, professionalism, fair pricing and value, but most of all, being a fun and kind human to work with. Kylee and her team were all of these and more.

How a Dallas Wedding Day Unfolds

  1. i.

    Getting ready

We arrive an hour into the morning, already moving slow. Detail flatlays, the dress, the rings, the light coming through the curtains. Quiet enough that no one notices us.

  2. ii.

    First look & portraits

Tucked away at one of Dallas's quieter corners. Twenty minutes, no rush.

  3. iii.

    Ceremony

We shoot from the aisle, the back, the side, and one frame from above if the space allows. We stay invisible. Family photos run list-driven right after.

  4. iv.

    Reception

Toasts, dances, cake. We stay through the last send-off. You'll get every plated dinner, every laugh, every quiet moment between events.

  5. v.

    Delivery

A tightly-curated 400-800 image gallery, hand-edited, delivered within 8 weeks. Print release included.

Where we shoot

Popular wedding photography venues in Dallas

A short list of Dallas-area venues we know well. We've curated these for the photographer's eye — light, ceremony spots, where to put the couple for portraits. We shoot many more across the region; ask us about yours.

  1. Nasher Sculpture Center — wedding photography venue, Dallas

    Nasher Sculpture Center

Dallas Arts District. Open-air sculpture garden, glass-walled gallery. We shoot ceremony in the east lawn (afternoon shade) and bring couples through the gallery on the way to formals — the natural light through the cantilevered roof is the best in the city for editorial work.

  2. The Room on Main — wedding photography venue, Dallas

    The Room on Main

Downtown. Industrial-chic loft with concrete floors and exposed brick. Ceremony in the long room reads as deeply intentional — a single corridor of guests on each side, the couple at the far end. We frame from the back, no compression.

  3. Hickory Street Annex — wedding photography venue, Dallas

    Hickory Street Annex

East Dallas. Garden courtyard, indoor reception hall. We use the courtyard for cocktail hour and the rooftop for last light. The brick textures and the mature live oak in the center carry every portrait you make here.

  4. Marie Gabrielle Restaurant & Gardens — wedding photography venue, Dallas

    Marie Gabrielle Restaurant & Gardens

Harwood District. Cascading water gardens, terrace, and chapel. We do garden ceremonies, walk couples up to the chapel for a candle-lit frame, and finish portraits on the terrace overlooking the city. Twenty-minute portrait window covers everything.

  5. Hotel Crescent Court — wedding photography venue, Dallas

    Hotel Crescent Court

Uptown. The Crescent Ballroom and the rooftop terrace work in tandem for a ballroom reception with pre-dinner skyline portraits. We always reserve the rooftop for the ten minutes before sunset.

Don't see your venue here? We've shot dozens more — just ask.

Honest Answers · Plate XVIII

Dallas Wedding Photography FAQ

The questions our couples ask before they book — answered straight.

  • How many photos do we get?

Edition I delivers 400+ edited images. Edition II is 600+. Edition III is 800+. We don't pad galleries with ten near-identical frames — every image is hand-selected and color-graded.
  • Can we bundle photo and video?

Yes — and it's the most popular booking. Bundle any two of our wedding services (Video + Photo, Photo + Content, or all three) and we knock 10% off your full package. Same studio, same creative direction, one team on the day.
  • Do you photograph weddings outside Dallas?

Yes. We regularly shoot outside the Dallas metro area — including destination weddings and elopements. We add travel as a flat line item, never a marked-up surprise.
  • What's your style, in one sentence?

Editorial and lifestyle — candid first, with a guiding hand when you want one. We document the day as it actually unfolds, and we'll step in to direct when it helps: posing through portraits, family formals, getting you settled at golden hour. Tell us how involved you'd like us to be — some couples want zero direction, others want a quiet co-pilot — and we'll match it.
  • When do we get our photos?

We generally deliver the full gallery within 3–4 weeks of your wedding.

Still have questions? Ask us directly.
